DNA “Rose Window”
The first director of the UCSF Computer Graphics Lab,
Bob Langridge,
likened this end-on view of a 10-fold-symmetric DNA double helix
to a stained-glass “rose window” in a cathedral.
In 2018, Bob, Peter Kollman, and Tack Kuntz were jointly awarded the
UCSF Medal (video).
